Bone Conduction Solutions

If you or your child have conductive, mixed, or unilateral hearing loss,  also known as monaural hearing loss, bone conduction solutions can help you or your child hear.

What is Bone Conduction?

Bone conduction solutions harness the body's natural ability to transmit sound vibrations through the bones of the skull directly to the functioning inner ear, enabling you to be aware of your surroundings and enjoy your daily activities.

Our latest bone conduction solution, the Cochlear™ Osia® System, is an active, steady-state, osseointegrative implant that uses piezoelectric stimulation to transmit sound to the inner ear.

The Cochlear Baha® System uses advanced technology to deliver sound to your inner ear. There are different sound processor models to choose from, each designed to treat  different degrees of hearing loss.

Active OS Implants

Active  steady-state implants (OS implants) use the principle of bone conduction, but unlike traditional bone conduction solutions, OS implants deliver acoustic vibrations through pressure stimulation. digital electricity. They use an implant that expands and contracts inside the implant to send sound vibrations through the bones of your skull directly to your working inner ear.

The Osia Cochlear  System consists of the following main components:

 • External audio processor  captures sound in the air - the Osia 2 sound processor is lightweight, durable and features modern connectivity options.

  • Internal Implant - our active operating system implant, the  Osia OSI200 Cochlear implant, is placed under the skin. Its base, the  BI300 cochlear implant, is designed to promote faster and stronger integration with bone. The Piezo Power™ converter inside the OSI200 implant is designed for long-term performance and durability.

Together, these components will bypass the inactive ear. The vibrations from the Piezo Power transducer travel to the inner ear, where they are converted into electrical impulses and sent to the brain to be interpreted as sound.

How do bone conduction implants work?

The Cochlear™ Baha® system uses advanced technologies to deliver sound to your inner ear. It's designed to help you hear clear, rich, natural sound1 so you can enjoy many of the activities you love. The Baha sound processor comes in different power levels to match your level of hearing loss.  Our flexible Cochlear Baha system consists of the following key components:

 • Sound processor - sound processor that captures sound in the air.

  • The connection between the sound processor and the implant to secure the sound processor. The connection is  Baha Connect, the pier connection, or Baha Attract, the magnetic connection.

  • Internal implants - all of our bone conduction solutions use the stable  BI300 cochlear implant with proven long-term reliability and sound transmission.

Together, these components bypass the blocked part of the ear, transmitting vibrations directly through the bone to the inner ear.
